Our Story
Founded in 2011 in Los Angeles, CA, Evangeline Theater Company began after a conversation between a father and son. Founder Gordon Carmadelle, a Louisiana native, shared a personal connection with his father over one of Tennessee Williams' greatest plays, "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof". Inspired by the moments of connection that were created over the play, Carmadelle decided to produce his first show under the then Nola Productions banner in 2011, bringing "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" to Santa Barbara, CA. Other shows would follow, both in Hollywood and back home in Mandeville and Covington. Now renamed Evangeline, the theater company is looking forward to bringing more professional-quality theater to local audiences on the Northshore. The company understands a sense of community is vital, which theater can provide, and they've also done benefit productions for both James Samaritan and the Northshore Humane Society.
